The Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE), formerly known as the Technical College and the Hong Kong Institute of Technology, was formed in 1999 through the merger of the original seven technical colleges and two technical colleges under the Vocational Training Council of the Hong Kong SAR Government.
