Bodega Aurrera is a Mexican mass merchant store owned by Wal-Mart, an American discount chain. The supermarket was established in Mexico City in 1970. Although each Aurrerá store was converted to a Walmart store, the Aurrerá and Bodega Aurrera brands remained, the former as a product brand and the latter as a store brand.
