The Golden Globe Awards, one of the most important awards in the American film industry, began in 1943 and is held by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association in mid-January each year in the form of a formal dinner, i.e., at the Oscars. The Golden Globe Awards are held one month before the Academy Awards, and are known as the "vane of the Academy Awards". The Golden Globes have 24 awards, including Best Screenplay, Best Director, Best Foreign Language Film, and Best Actor and Actress, which are voted on by 96 journalists.
