The Houston Chronicle ( The Houston Chronicle, founded in 1901, is the most widely circulated daily newspaper in the state of Texas. According to March 2008 data, the newspaper is the ninth largest circulation newspaper in the United States. With the demise of its longtime competitor, the Houston Post, the Chronicle's most recent major competitor is in Dallas' Fort Worth.
