Lorillard Tobacco Company ( Lorillard Tobacco Company), once the third largest tobacco company in the U.S., announced on July 15, 2014 that the second largest tobacco manufacturer in the U.S. will acquire Lorillard Tobacco Company, the third largest tobacco company, in a cash plus stock transaction.
