Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University ( Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (abbreviated as FAMU) is a public university in the United States, founded in 1887 in Tallahassee, Florida, and part of the Florida State University system. The U.S. News & World Report listed it as the number one public traditional black university in the United States in 2017.
