The New York Botanical Garden (New York The Botanical Garden is one of the nation's premier botanical gardens, located along the Bronx River in the heart of New York City - the Bronx - and encompassing approximately 100 hectares of land. It also has a well-preserved herbarium and a large plant database with over 5,000,000 specimens from around the world. The New York Botanical Garden was formerly known as the Algin Botanical Garden, established by David Hosak in 1801; it was renamed in 1891.
