Phoenix College is the largest private university in the United States, founded in 1976, and is part of the Apollo Education Group, which now has about 200 campuses and learning centers with more than 150,000 students in 21 states, Puerto Rico and Canada. The majority of students receive distance learning online, which is more than the number of "brick and mortar" students enrolled in the school itself.
