Lockheed Martin Corporation, formerly known as Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company (LMT), was founded in 1912 as an American aerospace manufacturer. In 1995, the company merged with Martin Marietta Corporation and changed its name to Lockheed Martin Corporation. Lockheed Martin is currently headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, in Montgomery County.
