Thales Alenia Space is a French company in the space business, with a French and Italian parent company. In 2005, Alcatel and Finmeccanica merged their space divisions to form a joint venture; in 2006, Alcatel sold its shares to the Thales Group to form the current Thales Alenia Aerospace.
