Le Bon Marché is considered the world's first department store and the first specially designed store building in Paris, founded by the Videau brothers in 1838; later, in 1848, it was acquired by the Boucicaut couple. In 1984, it was acquired and became an upscale luxury department store in Paris. Following the creation of Le Pommache department store, the Louvre department store, and the Salmartin department store and other famous French high-end department stores have emerged one after another.
