The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) was founded in Paris, France, on May 21, 1904, by Belgium, France, Denmark, Spain, Sweden, the Netherlands and Switzerland. The federation has 209 members and is a member of the International Federation of Sports Federations. The working languages are English, French, Spanish and German, and in case of language conflict, English is the standard. FIFA has six regional organizations in Europe, Asia, Africa, North and Central America and the Caribbean, South America and Oceania.
