The French Open is one of the four major tennis tournaments in the world, the other three being the Australian Open, Wimbledon Open and US Open. The French Open, founded in 1891, is the only Grand Slam tournament on clay, usually played in May and June each year, and is the second Grand Slam tournament to be played.
