INSA Lyon (Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon) is an elite school for the training of engineers, directly under the French Ministry of Education, founded in 1957. It is one of the leading engineering schools in France, with a reputation for quality engineering education and research, and was ranked first in the 2008 overall ranking of five-year engineering schools by the prestigious business magazine Nouvel Economiste.
