ESA (Ecole spéciale d'architecture) is a well-known private school in France, founded in 1865 by the engineer Emile Tra in order to oppose the monopoly of art architecture. The main departments include Architecture and Environment, Visual Arts and Expression, History and Human Sciences, Building Science and Technology, Computer Applications and Communication, and can award a DESA diploma (a degree generally recognized in the European Union).
