The Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) is one of the world's largest sovereign wealth funds, established in 1976, located in Abu Dhabi and owned by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and funded primarily by Abu Dhabi's oil revenues. On October 25, 1985, Emirates Emirates made its inaugural flight from Dubai with a Boeing 737 and an Airbus 300 B4. At the Dubai Airshow in November 2007, Emirates announced a historic civil aircraft order for 120 Airbus A350s, 11 A380s and 12 Boeing 777-300ERs, valued at approximately US$34.9 billion. We have the youngest and most modern fleet of commercial airliners in the world, a strength that will help us achieve our goal of making Dubai an integrated global long-haul hub sooner rather than later.
