Sogou, a subsidiary of Sohu, was launched on August 3, 2004 to enhance Sohu.com's search skills and mainly operate Sohu's search business. On August 9, 2010, Sohu and Alibaba announced that they would spin off Sogou to form an independent company and introduce strategic investments, and after the injection, Sogou is expected to become the second largest Chinese search tool after Baidu.
