Vietnam National University, Hanoi was established on December 10, 1993 and reorganized on February 1, 2001 to merge some of the major institutions in Hanoi to its current size. The University is a multidisciplinary institution of higher education and an important research center, including the Faculty of Science, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the University of Foreign Languages, and six faculties of technology, economics, law, education, information technology, and business.
