The National Library of Vietnam (NLV) is located in the capital city of Hanoi, formerly known as the Indochina Library Center established by the French colonialists on November 29, 1917. The National Library of Vietnam has more than one million books and publications in its collection. It is the main repository of paid books, degree theses and patents, collecting foreign publications on Vietnam, works of foreign Vietnamese, manuscripts of famous writers and foreign materials of high value.
