The City & Guilds of London Institute (City & Guilds) is a global vocational skills education organisation, established in 1878 by the City of London and 16 trade unions. In 1884, it became a national institution for vocational education and qualification level examinations and certificates, and is responsible for the awarding of 52% of vocational and technical certificates in the UK.
