The Financial Services Authority (FSA), the UK's sole, independent, overall regulator of the UK financial sector, has the function of making financial regulatory rules and regulations, issuing and implementing financial sector standards, giving guidance and advice to those being regulated, and the general policies and standards by which it operates.
