Kingston University, founded in 1899, has always maintained close ties with industry and other professional bodies, thus ensuring that its programs are more responsive to the requirements of employers. Many of the university's degree programs offer students a one-year internship in business and industry. Kingston University has seven departments: Business, Design, Humanities, Natural Sciences, Computer Mathematics, Engineering Technology, and Health Sciences.
