University College London ( University College London (UCL) is a public research university located in London, England. The College was originally founded in 1826 by Thomas Campbell and Henry Bloumham in the name of "University of London" (London University), is the first institution of higher learning in the City of London, and the first secular university in the United Kingdom regardless of the gender and religious background of the students.

Although not directly involved in the construction of the school, the The philosopher Jeremy Bean's philosophy of education inspired the founders, and is therefore known as "the godfather of the University of London", in 1836, the formal establishment of the University of London (The University of London) with the federal system of colleges, the school was renamed "University College London", with King's College London (King's College London) became the two founding member colleges of the university. The school then grew rapidly and merged with a number of colleges and universities, but also in England to create a number of college departments.

University College London has 11 academic colleges with over 100 academic departments and research centers. Its headquarters are in Bloomsbury, central London, with two satellite campuses in Australia and Qatar.

Although part of the University of London Commonwealth, the College itself has a high degree of autonomy, including the independent award of degrees, so the nature of the University is no different from the general. LSE is one of the UK's "Golden Triangle universities" and one of the founders of 11 biomedical research sites and a number of technology consortia established by the NHS in England.

University College London is one of the most difficult institutions to enter in the country, and is also ranked in the top 20 universities in the world and among the top four in the UK. There are 17 libraries, nine museums and collections covering a wide range of academic disciplines. The University's faculty, students, and alumni include 31 Nobel Prize winners, three Fitz winners, many political and organizational leaders, and several prominent literary figures.
