The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), founded in 1922, is a government-funded but independently run public media organization, the largest news broadcaster in the United Kingdom and one of the largest in the world. In addition to its media business, the BBC also provides book publishing, newspapers, English language teaching, symphony orchestras and Internet news services.
