Garuda Indonesia Airlines (full Indonesian name: PT (Persero) Perusahaan Penerbangan Garuda Indonesia; abbreviation: Garuda Indonesia, Indonesia Airlines or Garuda, Indonesia Eagle Airlines; also known as Garuda Indonesia Garuda Indonesia is a national airline wholly owned by the Indonesian government and was founded in Jakarta on the eve of Indonesia's victory in the Indo-Nepalese War of Independence against the Dutch colonialists, with hub airports at Soekarno-Hatta, Mataram and Megaport. Garuda Indonesia has five major subsidiaries, including PT Aerowisata (travel agency, hotel, transportation and restaurant services), PT GMF Aero Asia (aircraft maintenance), PT Abacus Distribution System (computer reservation provider), PT Gapura Angkasa (airport ground operations), and PT Lufthansa System Indonesia (airport ground operations).
