Anna University (AU) is a comprehensive university established by the government of Tamil Nadu, India. Founded in 1794, AU is a merger of four prestigious research institutions in Chennai: GUINDY College of Engineering, Department of Technology of ALAGAPPA Institute of Technology, University of Madras, School of Architecture and Planning, University of Madras and Madras Institute of Technology at CHROMPET. Since its establishment, the University of Anna has become not only an important educational institution but also a center of excellence for encouraging collaboration and exchange between academic groups and industry.
