Giovanni Pinarello was born in Catena di Villorba in 1922, the eighth of 12 brothers in his family. During those difficult years, the peasants in the remote areas of Veneto lived in poverty. The struggle against ordinary life and the painful ordeals of two world wars left a deep mark on Giovanni Pinarello and his family. However, his poor living conditions did not erase Giovanni's passion for bicycles.

With his determination and love for bicycles, Giovanni was able to realize his dream. With all the borrowed stuff, he rushed into the cycling world. Giovanni's dream soon came true, and his passion won him numerous victories.

In 1947, as an amateur, with more than 60 awards, he became a professional cyclist in the cycling world. 5 key awards won in 1953 made him a highly regarded professional cyclist in the cycling world. At the end of his cycling career, Giovanni's other passion was born and realized - Pinarello brand bicycles.
