The University of Messina (Università degli Studi di Messina) is one of the oldest institutions of higher education and research in Italy, founded in 1548, with 11 main faculties in liberal arts, natural sciences, medicine, engineering, etc., with a good tradition of intercultural academic research. It has a strong tradition of cross-cultural academic research, and its students come mostly from South Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
