Litencyc:Encyclopedia of English Literature Litencyc:English Literature Encyclopedia is a new reference encyclopedia of literary works, co-founded and maintained by university faculty from around the world, providing cultural knowledge including biographies, literary works, and literary terminology.

The entries in the Literary Encyclopedia are divided into three Databases: People, Works and Subject Activities. All articles are intended to be 'entry' level university/college reading - neither too long nor too short, neither too simple nor too complex. We offer excellent coverage of British, American, Canadian, German and Russian literature as well as significantly increased coverage of French, Italian, Japanese, Old Greek, Latin, Hispanic and Eastern Europe. (Other major literature resources have increased as permitted.) To date, we have published about 6,921 completed articles, totaling about 14.33 million words. Currently, we are adding about 40 articles per month to the encyclopedia.

People - includes basic data on 6992+ people with all profiles (2925), mainly writers, but also philosophers, scientists, artists, historical figures and others of note. You can browse a list of completed profiles.

Works - Includes over 31132 works (3324 completed), mainly literary, philosophical and scientific, which are dated, genre and country indexed. These are a large portion of the listed bibliographic titles, while others will be expanded and developed by the Alien Encyclopedia. You can browse a list of completed profiles.

Subject Events - lists 16498 historical and literary events, it provides 11345 short notes (including major acts of parliament, wars, warfare, epidemics, technological inventions, cultural changes, concepts, etc.) and 672 major prose literary, critical, philosophical and historical concepts, themes and events . You can browse the list in short notes or prose.
