New Zealand Music Chart ( The Official New Zealand Music Chart is a weekly updated top 40 list of the hottest singles and albums in New Zealand, all ranked based on digital music and physical music sales data from major New Zealand distributors.

In order to meet the In order to qualify for the "New Zealand Music Chart" title, music must be performed or released by a New Zealand citizen or a long time resident of New Zealand. The New Zealand Music Chart has two certifications, Gold Platinum Sales Singles, which are determined by sales of physical or digital singles to fans, and Gold Platinum Sales Albums, which are determined by sales figures of bulk orders from distributors.

In May 2015, the New Zealand Music Chart celebrated its 40th anniversary at Auckland's Victor Theatre, featuring 16 artists as well as artists who have achieved great success on the charts. As part of the celebration, the New Zealand charts released two limited edition singles: Tiki Taane's "always on my mind" and Scribe's "stand up", which topped the New Zealand charts for 55 and 12 weeks respectively after their release.
