Fonterra Co-operative Group Ltd (Fonterra Group, Fonterra) is the world's largest exporter of dairy products, established in October 2001 through the merger of New Zealand's then two largest dairy companies and the New Zealand Dairy Board. On August 2, 2013, some of Fonterra's dairy products were tested for Clostridium botulinum, causing serious harm to New Zealand milk powder and Chinese milk powder.
