National University of Singapore ( National University of Singapore, abbreviated as NUS, short for National University), is a public university (institution of higher learning) in Singapore, is also one of the leading universities in Asia and the world, in 2017, the University of Singapore in the QS World University Rankings for the 12th, QS Asia University Rankings for the 1st.

The National University of Singapore was formerly a medical school founded in 1905 in the Straits Colony. The main campus is located in Kent Ridge, in the southwest of Singapore, 12 km from the city center, 30 minutes drive from the eastern suburbs of Changi Airport (Changi Airport), for the high and uneven hilly terrain, the campus free bus as the main mode of transportation.

The campus occupies 150 hectares of land and was formerly a British air force base in Singapore during the colonial era at Pasir Panjang. The campus is roughly divided into two parts, the front part is the school area, administrative buildings, and recreational facilities; the rear part is mainly research institutes and student housing, the campus, any two buildings can be connected by corridors, air bridges, no need to leave the shelter. The campus is adjacent to the Singapore Science Park, A*STAR and the National University Hospital, making it very convenient for research. The campus is located south of the container port of Pasir Panjang and overlooks the port area.

NUS has a total of 17 faculties spread across 3 campuses in Singapore - Kentigon, Bukit Timah and Onam - offering a wide range of programmes across disciplines and faculties. NUS's transformative education includes exchange programs, corporate internships offered by NUS's overseas schools, and joint degree and dual degree programs with some of the world's top universities, providing students with opportunities and challenges to explore their potential. To this end, NUS actively promotes cultural, artistic and sports activities to bring vitality and color to residential life. The 38,000 students from hundreds of countries and regions have brought with them a diversity of perspectives from other societies and cultures, enriching and deepening the vitality of the NUS community.

NUS has a full range of disciplines, including humanities and social sciences, science, engineering, business, law, architecture, computer science, the Yang Luling School of Medicine and the Yang Xutao School of Music. There are also research institutes such as the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy and the East Asia Institute. The campus is also home to the Temasek Institute of Life Sciences (TLL), the Data Storage Institute (DSI), the Institute of Information Research (I2R), the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), the Institute of Molecular Cell Biology (IMCB), the Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT), and other advanced research institutes belonging to the Singapore Science and Technology Research Agency.
