Kinokuniya Shoten (きのくにやしょてん, Kinokuniya Shoten), short for Kinokuniya, is the largest bookstore chain in Japan, established on January 22, 1927. It has 59 branches in Japan and has branches in other countries. In addition to bookstores, Kinokuniya also operates performing arts events in Japan, such as concert halls and theaters.
