Japan's Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) is one of Japan's central ministries and agencies, formed in 2001 by the merger of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and the Agency for Science and Technology. It is headed by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, who is a member of the Cabinet.
