Okuribito is a Japanese drama film about an undertaker, starring the powerful actors Masahiro Motoki, Nu Yamazaki and Ryoko Hiromitsu, and directed by the famous director Yojiro Takita, which premiered on September 13, 2008. The film is based on the perspective of a novice undertaker, who observes various kinds of death, thus interpreting the true meaning of life. The Mortuary has won the top prize at the 32nd Montreal International Film Festival in Canada and the 81st Best Foreign Language Film Award.
