The Japan Association of Graphic Designers (The Japan Graphic Designers Association (JAGDA) is one of the most famous professional design organizations in Japan and the world, founded by Mr. Shigeo Fukuda in 1978, is committed to the development of Japanese graphic design and enhance the social status of designers.

Currently the association has about 2800 members in Japan and abroad. The association has about 2800 members in Japan and abroad, and each year it selects the Japan Graphic Designers Association Award, the Yusaku Kamekura Award, and the New Talent Award to recognize and discover outstanding designers and design works. One of the important activities each year is to record outstanding graphic design works and present them with various awards.

Nowadays, the Japan Graphic Designers Association selects several high quality designs by category from the entries of the annual Japan Graphic Design Conference and presents them with awards every year. The types of design include: posters, general design, CI/VI/logo/logotype/character and event logo design, book/layout design, packaging design, newspaper and magazine advertising design, environmental design and spatial graphic design, interactive design, video design, integrated design, etc.
