brief introduction

Bergen National Academy of Arts Art Music Design Although its history is far less rich than Bergen's long history of art education - the city's first art school appeared in 1772 - it is no small feat. It is the second largest cultural building in the city, with 14,800 square meters of floor space.

The Bergen National Academy of Fine Arts (KHiB, Norwegian for Kunsth? Founded in 1772 in Bergen, Hordaland, Norway, it is one of Norway's national colleges of higher education and one of two independent institutions of higher learning in visual arts and design. It is one of two independent institutions of higher learning in visual arts and design in Norway. There are 340 students and approximately 100 employees at the school. The Bergen National College of Fine Arts offers a three-year undergraduate program and a two-year master's program in the following areas: visual arts, interior architecture, furniture design, room design, video communication, photography, printmaking, ceramics, textiles, and more. The Bergen National College of Art also offers a number of training programs for its students.

Each student at KMD is able to have their own studio, which they can decorate as they wish, thus stimulating their creativity. The entire building's facade is made of recycled aluminum panels. The designers have intentionally created a patchwork of different sizes and fit levels. The rainy climate of Norway also causes their surfaces to oxidize naturally, adding color and texture variations.

The interior of the KMD buildings are mostly kept in a semi-finished state, both for the sake of the environment and to allow students to make their own future designs. This approach is called the "redundancy model" (redundancy model), an approach to design that takes into account future conditions. The core elements of the building are fixed, but the interior spaces can be reworked to accommodate the number and needs of future students.
