The University of Bergen is one of Norway's proudest institutions of higher learning, founded in 1946 on the basis of the Bergen Museum, which was established in 1825. It is now the second largest comprehensive university in Norway. It is located in Bergen, the second largest city on the southwest coast of Norway.
