Central University was founded in Nanjing in the fourth year of the R.O.C. During the mainland period, it was the academic capital of the Southeast, and was on a par with Peking University and Tsinghua University, and was reopened in Taiwan in the fifty-first year of the R.O.C. It was first located in Miaoli, and then moved to its current location in Shuanglianpo, Zhongli. With an area of 62 hectares, CUHK is located at the hub of the Greater Taipei, Hsinchu Science Park and the Asia Pacific Aviation City.
