Democratic Action Party (English: Democratic Action Party; Malay: Parti Tindakan Demokratik; abbreviated: DAP, Action Party, PKR and Rocket Party) is currently one of the main opposition parties in the Malaysian Parliament and is the current ruling party in Penang and Selangor. It is also the ruling party in Penang and Selangor. DAP is a social democratic party dedicated to the pursuit of national equality, social justice and economic equity, with the aim of fighting for a "Malaysia for Malaysians". Currently, the party is a member of the three parties of the People's Alliance.
