The official website of the Czechoslovak national soccer team Czechoslovakia's national soccer team from 1922 to 1993 was the runner-up in the 1934 and 1962 World Cups and the 1976 UEFA Euro champion. With the collapse of the Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia was split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and its national soccer team was also split.

The Czech team first qualified as a Czech Republic in 1998. The 2006 World Cup in Germany was the first time the team made it to the final round of the World Cup, but unfortunately stopped in the group stage. Before that, the former Czechoslovakia had been a finalist at least eight times, and at the Battle of World War I, Bohemia (now the Czech Republic), under Austro-Hungarian rule, had played seven soccer matches against Hungary and England between 1903 and 1908.

and in 1939 played a friendly match with Germany. When the Czech Republic became part of Czechoslovakia, they were runners-up in the World Cup in 1934 and 1962. They also won the European Football Championship in 1976, the only national team championship in their soccer history. After the Czech Republic split from Czechoslovakia, the Czech national soccer team was formed and played its first international match against Turkey in 1994.
