(English:Avril Ramona Lavigne Whibley) is a Canadian pop rock singer, songwriter and actor. She is also known for her song "Skater Boy" (Skater Boy). In 2006, Avril was named to Canadian Business Magazine's list of most influential Canadians in Hollywood (#17).

Avril was born in the small town of Napanee, Canada and has been singing and performing since she was a child. She has always loved to sing and perform. She was discovered by Arista Records and began her career as a singer. She is also a skateboarder who emphasizes being herself and always wears a tank top with a black tie to concerts.
