Established in 1848, Hamilton General Hospital is located in downtown Hamilton, Ontario and is operated by Hamilton Health Sciences, a hospital affiliated with McMaster University School of Medicine. It is the largest and busiest cardiac surgery hospital in Ontario, with approximately 1,600 open heart surgeries performed each year.
