Schiphol Airport (official English name: Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Dutch: Luchthaven Schiphol) is the main airport of Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, and is also the main gateway to the Netherlands. Located in the southwestern suburbs of Amsterdam, Schiphol Airport is actually located in Haarlemmermeer, North Holland, and currently has five main runways for large civil aircraft and a secondary runway mainly for general aviation.
