The Korean Film Revival Council ( The Korean Film Council (KOFIC), formerly known as the Korean Motion Picture Promotion Corporation (KMPPC), was established on April 3, 1973. The KMPPC was renamed the Film Promotion Committee on May 28, 1999.

The KMPPC is responsible for the management of the film revitalization fund through the The committee aims to improve the quality of Korean films and to develop the film industry in Korea through the coordination and management of the film revival fund. It is committed to improving the international competitiveness of technology and support systems, cultivating talented people, expanding equipment for the film industry, assisting in the establishment of specialized film investment portfolios, and creating a cultural space and system for film education.

KOFIC actively promotes research, education and training on film, and also carries out a number of activities such as encouraging and supporting creative work in film, broadening the overseas market for domestic films, and listening to the views of the audience to solve problems in a timely manner. In addition, we have also established the Film Industry Foundation Center, the Film Experience Education Center, the Animation Technical Support Center, the Film Risk Center and other related organizations. KOFIC has three main units: the Secretariat, the Seoul Complex and the Korean Film Institute. They are in charge of policy development, industry promotion, counseling, kernel approval implementation, talent development, education and research, and domestic and international marketing.
