The Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety (KINS) is the Korean government's nuclear safety regulatory body, established in 1990 and headquartered in Daejeon, to protect the public and the environment from the hazards of nuclear radiation generated by the production or use of nuclear energy, and to achieve the 2020 "global goals". KINS is responsible for the development and implementation of the nuclear safety regulatory system, and the realization of the "Global Nuclear Safety Center" in 2020.
