The Bank of Korea (Korean: 한국은행; English: Bank of Korea) is the central bank of the Republic of Korea, abbreviated as Hankook. The bank was founded on June 12, 1950 under the Bank of Korea Act. Its central headquarters is located in Namdaemun-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul, Korea. It issues Korean Won (원, ₩, also known as Korean Won).
