Korea National Railroad (KNR, KORAIL) was originally the National Railroad Agency of the Republic of Korea, but was nationalized on January 1, 2005 and is no longer affiliated with the government of the Republic of Korea. The headquarters of the railroad company is located in the East District of Daejeon City, Central Korea, and is mainly responsible for the domestic passenger trains and freight trains of the Republic of Korea, mainly operating lines including the Republic of Korea Railway, high-speed railway and metropolitan area electric railway.
