Yleisradio Oy, which translates as Finnish Broadcasting Corporation, is the national public broadcasting company of Finland, founded in 1926, is a joint-stock company, 99.98% owned by the State of Finland, and has about 3,200 employees in Finland. Yle shares many of the same organizational characteristics as its British counterpart, the BBC, and it is largely imitative.
