Metrobank is the largest commercial bank in the Philippines and the first Filipino bank to establish a branch in China, founded in the early 1960s and headquartered in Makati City, the financial center of the Philippines. As of 2009, the bank had total assets of over $60 billion and over 800 subsidiaries with nearly 8,000 employees worldwide.
